Bugatti EB110S LM in 1994 Le Mans 24 Hours livery and an EB110S SC GTS-1 arrive at H.R. Owen

Today H.R. Owen Bugatti took delivery of Bugatti's only two official race cars, an EB110S LM short for Le Mans and another EB110S but this time an SC GTS-1.

Bugatti only made a total of around 150 EB110 cars in all its various models and the two cars you see in the pictures in this post are among the rarest of them all.

The two Bugattis are at H.R. Bugatti London for their annual maintenance, as you can imagine cars of this caliber need the best of the best in automotive care and expertise hence the careful selection of H.R. Bugatti London.

The EB110s are very complex machines powered by a quad-turbocharged 3.5-liter V12 power plant which produces 600hp delivered through an all-wheel-drive system.

The striking blue EB110S LM raced at Le Mans 24 Hours in 1994, on the 55th anniversary of Bugatti's last race success at Le Mans.

Fun Fact - The car was build and finished in under half a year, the car was on course for a very successful race despite 5 Turbo changes and a fuel tank leak. Despite all the obstacles the car was set for a top-five finish but with just 45 minutes left on the clock, a tire blowout ensured Bugatti's race finished prematurely.

The silver vehicle, EB110S SC GTS-1 was bound for racing in the North American WSC GT race series. The silver car differs slightly from the LM by having a higher ride height, a re-configured cockpit, and some bodywork tweaks. In 1995, it recorded a fifth-place finish at Watkins Glen and 6th in-class at Sears Point prior. At Daytona 24 Hours race things were looking great for successful race until transmission issues intervened just before the finish line.

After retiring from racing both EB110s have led busy lives with their passionate owner; The EB110 SC GTS-1 appeared in photos for the launch of the Centodieci, while EB110 LM appeared in promotional materials created for the race-bred Bugatti Bolide announced earlier this year.
